have lived and worked on the Central Coast for 13 years and have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, a Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling and a Masters of Counselling degree. I am a member of the Association of Personal Counsellors and am in private practice at Tumbi Umbi.I offer couple counselling for those who find themselves in the midst of ‘relationship pain’ as well as counselling for individuals struggling with life stages, anxiety, personal or relationship issues, trauma, bereavement and addictions. I maintain an integrative, person-centred approach to the counsellor/client relationship that is purposeful and displays genuine empathic connection. As an integrative therapist I may use a variety of approaches including but not limited to Acceptance and Committment Therapy (a mindfulness based CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy.In addition to providing counselling services in the community I have co-ordinated and facilitated a weekly 12 step recovery programme at The Berkeley Centre for five years through a local church.I believe that being heard is a vital first step in the process of feeling better and that a safe therapeutic environment is a necessity when beginning the journey towards psychological, emotional and spiritual health. I genuinely delight in seeing people move from a place of 'stuckness' or stress to a place of self-acceptance, personal growth and general well-being.
