Thalpori is recognised by the Department of Health and Ageing as a provider of nursing care to Australian elders of Greek speaking background who have a current Aged Care Assessment indicating the need for high care. Accommodation -The high care section of the facility accommodates 30 residents with single rooms. The allocation of rooms is determined by the Manager of Residential Care Services who takes into account various factors and individual needs. There are resident lounges a dining room activities room kitchen and laundry.
Thalpori. Memory Support Unit
The Thalpori low care section consists of 17 low and high level care beds including 1respite bed and a secured section (wing) of 13 dementia specific beds in an attractive building located next to Thalpori high care section at St. Albans. The facility is managed by a Manager of Residential Care. Accommodation – The facility has 30 single rooms with their own ensuite. The allocation of rooms is determined by the Manager of Residential Care who takes into account various factors and individual needs. There are three lounges a dining room a kitchen and a laundry. There is access to a spacious courtyard. This can be used for outdoor activities. Thalpori allows for Ageing-in-Place. This means that an elderly person can remain in the same facility as their needs shift to high care category.Respite -Thalpori has 1 respite bed that may be booked in advance for the purpose of the carer having a break managing family concerns such as hospitalisation or unforseen crisis. An agreement is entered into between the resident and/or representative and “Fronditha”. The agreement or booking specifies the duration of the respite placement. It is important in all instances to discuss the family’s and elderly persons needs before a booking is made.
